We are delighted to be partnering with the farmers (orchardists) at Champlain Orchards of Shoreham, Vermont, to provide a delicious Fruit Share for our CSA this season. This CSA Fruit Share is primarily Apples & Pears, with the possibility of more early variety fruit as the season allows.

PRICE: $132 (approx. $8.80 per week)
The Fruit Share is offered as an Add-on to our CSA Vegetable Share.
ECOLOGICALLY GROWN & CERTIFIED FRUIT
Our Fruit Farmer uses ecological growing methods to produce fruit that is grown with minimal use of sprays. Since organic methods of managing orchards on the East Coast are not reliable due to climate challenges, this type of farming is the best available option for LOCAL tree fruit!
REDUCED SPRAYING
As a requirement to become Eco-Apple Certified, their high-density orchards use a fraction of the spraying relative to conventional growers.
NATURAL PEST MANAGEMENT
Damaging pests are managed through mating disruption, trapping, and orchard scouting, further decreasing the need for spraying.
NATURAL HORTICULTURE MANAGEMENT
They use wood chips made from pruned branches as mulch around the trunks of our trees to build soil health and minimize use of herbicides.

THE ORCHARDISTS
Champlain Orchards is a family owned & ecologically managed orchard overlooking Lake Champlain in Shoreham, Vermont. As one of the oldest continuously operating orchards in Vermont, they take pride in growing over 100 varieties of tree fruits. They are careful stewards of the land, are solar powered, and grow their fruit following strict Eco-Apple requirements (third-party certified by IPM) while striving to minimize their carbon footprint and sustainably contribute to the community.
