“Shinseiki” Asian Pear
A round fruit with yellow skin stippled with tan. It is a firm, crunchy variety with a sweet flavor and hints of spice.
How to store fruit
Pears are best stored in the fridge. You can leave them on the counter for a few days to ripen to darker yellow/light brown for best sweet flavor. Then refrigerate or enjoy right away.
STORAGE
Store all greens in an airtight container in the fridge. Zucchini/Squash, Peppers and Cauliflower should also be in the fridge.
The Tomatoes should remain on the counter and enjoyed when fully deep red (or yellow for the cherries). Don’t refrigerate tomatoes or they will lose all their flavor.
THIS IS WEEK “A” for bi-weekly members
The tomatoes are continuing to produce nicely! The upcoming forecast calls for warmer than normal temperatures, which these summer crops love!
We’re so excited for our colored peppers this week! You have to have a lot of patience as you watch the peppers grow larger and slowly turn from green to yellow, orange and red over the course of a month. The soils here are amazing and you can see that in the quality of our fruiting crops. Enjoy!
